I don't know whether physically Mr. Hall is or isn't at sea, it was metaphorical. The picture appropriately expressed what everyone is seeing.
A CEO is there to lead and fix problems, and in doing so delivers for his shareholders. In this instance its an oil company. If the problem is oil prices are too low, Mr. Hall needs to express that and deliver a solution that will result in lower extraction price points, if its because the ground temperature is too cold he needs to express that and deliver the cost-efficient technology to warm the ground up, etc., etc.
As I said: Five holes in the ground in 5 months doesn't show me that Mr. Hall is a highly functioning individual who can envision a need, problem solve and finally execute to deliver revenues. As far as I see EPA is somewhere beyond "envision a need" and appears to be a long way from "executing".
The name change is a big BS. That's not going to drive the share price if the company cannot / will not / whatever not extract oil and book revenues. The name change is indicative of an indecisive, uncommunicative individual who isn't performing IMO.
There's a mis-match between Mr. Hall's potential (practical expression in IGBG's revenues) and output (next to nothing at CYBK). There's a total lack of communication to shareholders (explaining the problems and fixes, delivering information to understand what EPA does and doing it, delivering wells with oil flowing from them, etc.), and what there is, is no longer believable because the PR's aren't matching timelines or outputs.
Bottom line: Irrespective of name, this is an oil company. It's function is to drill holes in the ground and extract oil. That's the only result people should be judging: how much oil is being produced.
