I agree. Unfortunately, they are winning the "public relations" war around the world. A perfect example is Africa.

While all the major US oil companies chose not to bid on exploration (somewhere in Africa) due to requirements of investing in country, China just agreed to billions of dollars to aid Africa. (I can go back and research articles posted on here to get exact links and facts, if anyone is interested.)

How does the rest of the world perceive this? My guess is that it is another example supporting previously held beliefs...America is self centered, arrogant and greedy.

Btw, I'm talking about perceptions here, not saying these are my feelings - I'm a proud American (most days! lol)

Wzebra33, writing checks to the leaders of African Countries is a time honored tradition. Check out a book written a few years back called "Tropical Gangsters". It should help understanding the politics of the continent. Building a 2 billion dollar refinery for Nigeria, courtesy of China, is a very influencial move. But you are right, enough politics! GLTY
