that has happen to me in the past with Scottrade,what they told me was that the internal price for the trading platform to trade that stock changed, so they stopped trading it. if you own stock you can sell it but you cant buy it. I think that is why it is showing you invalid. try to enter a sell order but don't sell. just enter the data and see if you still get invalid symbol!
