Hi Allen.

That looks like something I was toying around with some time back ... wow! ... 5 years ago apparently http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=36965653 to use Excel to create a history file. Follow that thread through and it should shed more light.

Clive.

Hi Allen, Re: Defeating the Newport Sunday update....................

When you first open Newport on Friday or Saturday, you can easily change the computer date to the coming Sunday and then do your updates based upon Friday's close.

Don't forget to reset your computer date to the proper day afterward.

Hi Allen, Re: Initial opening Trade in Newport.................

Newport assumes that your initial position isn't an AIM recommended "Trade" so doesn't post it in the main window. It also doesn't record it in Newport's Notepad. That window just displays Buy/Sell trades that you've made using the TRADE window.

However, you can open the Notepad and make any additions there that you want. I usually add in the initial buy information, Buy and Sell Resistance settings, Min Trade information and any special instructions that I have for that holding. Then SAVE it for future reference.

If for some reason later on I change any of the basic trading rules, I go back to that initial note, draw a line under the last part, hit Return to start a new line and type in the change(s) and reasoning for the change and draw another line below it.

They you have a quick reference for any changes that you've made over time.
