Everyone has seen the decline in commodities because of the strong dollar, and while OPEC stands its ground against American shale producers in regards to market share, I am curious about the impact of petrodollars.
Its just a wrinkle that I have been thinking about lately since I have seen people using $USD overlays on $WTIC and $BRENT charts.
$GASO charts show the same decline which isn't a surprise, but I wonder if the decline in commodities overall is related more to the pricing of petrodollars by OPEC oil purchasers versus the scapegoat of over production by domestic shale producers.
