I have brought this up in previous posts. Biggest concern I have is when ACA and evidence based medicine intersect regarding robotics. If the "value" isn't there, robotics has a rough road ahead. That's why the timing is critical to get to commercialization.
Personally, I think robotics is the future, but there may be growing pains due to cost vs outcomes.
Not sure how long before we as surgeons see push back on robotics. To date, I have had only one denial from 3rd party payer.
