Thank you for contacting me to express your opposition to current legislative proposals to reform Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (GSE reform). It's great to hear from you.

I appreciate your concern for ensuring that the rights of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac shareholders are protected in any GSE reform proposal. While I will continue working alongside my colleagues in the House to reduce the taxpayer risk from mortgages guaranteed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, I will not forget current shareholders. All of the American people will be on the hook if we suffer another housing crisis, so together we must find a sustainable path forward.
