$ALBKY The Alpha Bank's Library started as a Library of the Economic Research and Legal Services Divisions and comprised a

number of books on economics and law. In 1984, Pericles Komninos, a top Credit Bank Executive, donated his personal library

of some 3,000 volumes to the Bank. In the year 2000, when the Alpha Credit Bank and the Ionian Bank merged, the libraries

which belonged to the two banks were united to form the Alpha Bank Library that today serves the needs of the various

departments of the Bank and also functions as a lending library for the Personnel.
The Alpha Bank Library now contains some 20,000 titles and includes books of general economic and banking interest, basic

historical works on ancient Greece and Byzantium, encyclopaedias and lexicographical works, classical works of modern Greek

literature, Archives of the Greek Revolution, Proceedings of the Greek Parliament and a rich collection of editions of

ancient Greek writers and of European travellers to Greece from the 17 to the 19 century. There is also a complete

collection of historical and geographical maps of Antiquity and of the Middle Ages, published by the Cartographic Centre of

the University of Tübingen. http://www.alphapolitismos.gr/en/04-Library
