The key is reliable. Short data has to be consolidated after closing positions so there is no official numbers except that biweekly report.

But, some people that short swear they can read the L2s... but I have never found a way that can be proven to be accurate. The only thing I can tell you is try to short... see if you get shares. Guess what that means.
