The cost for the user would be non-issue if the banks offered the card for free on premium accounts or an incentive to open an account. It's not uncommon for banks to give several hundred dollars to people as an incentive to open a new account with them. The card would be regarded as a prestigous item such as the AMEX black card.

I am not of the opinion any banking institution is going to pay $50 per card.
If nuts is correct and the net profit is $25 this will be a big deterrent for potential purchasers. If we are providing millions upon millions as stated then what's wrong with $10 or $15 net profit.
Get your foot in the door so to speak.
Perhaps Chaya knows the pricing due to talks already held but as a layman it seems quite expensive.
