Thanks for your post. The first milestone is Abbott's notification to BioCurex of Abbott's successful completion of its feasibility review along with a monetary payment to BioCurex. It seems so logical that "feasibility" would also require absolute assurance by Abbott as to the perfection of the design of their serum RECAF assay before any notification or payment is made to BioCurex. Abbott sets the timelines. Therefore, the announcement of the first milestone and the assay patent application could occur almost simultaneously. What Abbott will patent is the mechanism by which their serum RECAF Architect assay is able to rapidly detect the "receptor" (a carbohydrate molecule and biomarker) for alpha fetoprotein that is exposed on the surface of malignant cells. What we don't know is how difficult it will be to accomplish that. What we do know is that Abbott's experts have been working for more than a year to make it happen. kag
