SEATTLE, Apr 24, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX News Network) --
Washington Mutual Inc., a big insurance company, is paying $983 million to buy Commercial Capital Bancorp Inc.

The all-cash deal is expected to boost Washington Mutual's commercial and retail banking business in one of its core markets, California, Washington Mutual said in a statement Monday.

Commercial Capital is the third largest multi-family lender in California.
