From what I understand the phase 3 drilling was required because the amount of ore they had was insufficient for the pilot plant studies. The stock pile of core has been split for assays, split and sent to two different labs, and still needs some of it to be retained. The tonnage needed for the pilot plant is larger than was expected. I think a much larger drill rig is onsite and pulling larger diameter core from various areas of the deposit to be representative.
Hard to say. I had the impression that 1&2 were definite and 3 was a maybe. The goal is to get to an indicated resource that will allow them to secure financing to build a mine. So more is better. They have the money, it adds very little time, do it. From what we've seen so far all the drilling results have looked pretty good.
