Well Duh, but you do pay the person who designs and receives the patents. I SAID it's the same type of argument - it's semantics but in the end, it isn't a metric to base your evaluation of a company on. It's subjective.

AMD is down to being a one trick pony so they better have less personal, if AMD should be so fortunate as to gain more than 30 % of market share then they will have to spend more money on marketing and infrastructure to support P.C. demand. A lot of intel personel are out in the emerging markets of asia, eastern europe and south americam and are pushing P.C., workstation and server growth in these area's, and have done a relatively good job IMHO. AMD like always rides on Intels coattales and spends very little money developing markets for its products, if it should gain more market share it will have to spend much more to continue to foster demand as it will not be able to ride on Intels coattales forever, if you are a very long term AMD investor you should pray that comes to pass, I doubt it will.
