I think the " china deal " has a excellent chance of happening . For me that's worth owning the stock all by its self. Certainly no sure thing , but worth the risk for me . All the other components combined don't equal anywhere near what China could offer . Bonnie had stated that China represented 40 % of all cigarettes consumed .

Brooklyn...Getting investment premises right is the most fundamentally important element of Investing.

Here is my assessment of your "premises"

1. "management that seems to be a little bit in disarray" Wrong...was before and now focused, professional and experienced in execution (now that JP is not a distraction being a "bull in THE China closet").

2. "China is a crapshoot, who knows what goes on there." Wrong...who knows you ask? T.P. and Crede. They would not have invested $10M, without first getting a commitment by "the ruling claque", you dont put $10M into a JV that is a crapshoot.

3. Valid observations

4. Valid observations.

IMHO...number 1 & 2 are the strongest short term positives for XXII and SP appreciation.

Here is my thoughts on that drama: Good points on loyal customers to a certain brand. But Red Sun is not your regular cigarette you can buy off the shelf of a truck stop gas station dear. That's why they call it the "best cigarette ever made". NOW, for one that can afford to try this just because of that phrase alone (which is very easy I think) like for example, an executive, a senator, a businessman, who in turn makes this a brand they distribute to their closest acquaintances or partners, and the same cycle from the other starts...you see where I'm going there? It's like a fine wine you enjoy for your self and share with others and word gets out. And mind you most of these types of people will not have a problem changing their brand. And they don't care if it was from a small fledgling company...even better! In short, the management knows what they created here, and it's not for the regular joe down the street...and for them not to cater for the cheapies, I say good for them. It shows this company is unafraid. Big Tobacco, you listening? That's just one product!
