The board would have to approve that, and then allow Denner to match your purchase -- any they already seem skittish about him increasing his interest.

But some back-of-the envelope math suggests that you could match Denner's holdings for about $71 million at Friday's close, which is possible -- if you're willing to put more than 50% of your post-tax winnings into Ariad.
