As far as your valve theory...it's my contention that you cannot tell the position of the valve from any photo or video I have seen to date...and likely not unless you are 2 feet away from it would you be able to make that determination. If so...please show me where you can see what direction the gate is in by an exterior photo. The device is in bypass...and the entire pumping site itself might be in bypass.
