On this point I agree. MSLP "spends" stock like it's make believe money. Personally, in this case, it smacks of "cover-up" money, or "hush" money. Why in the world would ANY company do that? Seriously. Because they're stupid? I don't think they are stupid.

Apart from the massive dilution of years gone by, this single act has disappointed me more than any other, making me ask the genuine question........WHY would a company do this?

I didn't say you should have assumed that the equity compensation plan is a scam. You should have done enough DD to know that MSLP has historically:

1) Engaged in lots and lots of dilution;
2) Excessively compensated its top executives, both in salary and stock-based compensation;
3) Issued stock GRANTS rather than stock OPTIONS;
4) TYPICALLY gifted deparing executives with the unvested portion of their stock grants.

Per my last post, they've done it several times already.

I'm not saying it's right. I'm saying that before investing a quarter million dollars in a company you should have done enough DD to NOT be surprised when they do AGAIN something they have done repeatedly in the past.
