To retain is to pay a retainer fee and it basically means that Firm will represent you as needed in the future. It does not mean work had been performed. When work is performed, the retainer money is used, any additional costs will be charged after the retainer amount has diminished. I have retained a law firm before without using them at the time. It is often in preparation for future need.

Sorry, but I see nothing in that statement that verifies that Audits are not being done. but hey, they are not far from me, I will stop-in and conduct some REAL DD, no need to thank me......I enjoy spreading the truth. :)
