It's all about perception indeed.
Trying to get this trademark was, in my mind, a very smart move. We're talking about business here, not being friends, and securing this tm would have given NRTI a huge advantage.
I do agree it's not completely fair to the brothers. But then again, it's business. The little girl has nothing to do with it.

The public and the market could care less about what name is being used on the product; that's the bottom line. It's also illegal on the federal level to do what any of these companies are doing, and that includes the Stanley brothers. Sounds like they're planning on testing the limits of the law, too, by trying to ship to all 50 states, and yet you wanna talk about ethics.

Don't get me wrong, as I like what's being done on the medical side, but I believe that you're making a big hoopla over nothing. Inergetics was also denied the trademark, so it's a non issue at this point and not worth harping about.
