Fusion will not create a meltdown, and the minute waste created has a half-life of only 13 years. It uses hydrogen atoms (tritium) rather than uranium.
I think this has a much more probable use in the very near future as the people of the planet demand reliable green energy. Biomass has its uses in small amounts in small countries, but not on a large scale.
