#82045 RE: TRUISM #82033

"If there's a company out there producing superior quality spider silk at a lesser cost basis, guess who will get the lion's share of requests? (Rhetorical) "

how superior?...how superior does it have to to be used in clothing?...i dont think the cost basis will be much of a factor to anyone but the producer...they should all be able to produce it profitably...at some point, the price of the silk will be set...regardless of cost to produce, the price to the buyer will be what it will be...

initially, who will get the lion's share?...it will be whoever can produce the most...whoever can give the buyer what he needs on a regular, continuing basis...slightly better silk wont matter in many of the larger markets...being first is important...

some of the other companies are already producing products for specific markets and creating alliances and sewing up certain segments...im not sure what kim is doing...he appears to want to go the technical fiber route but hes got warwick playing around with ms which is not for that market...big red is supposed to be for that market...which is why i dont get everyone continuously trying to have howland putting ms in his PPE...kim has said many times that ms is for the mundane and br is for tech...
