Thanks for clearing that up, I question the term every time I see it. If stocks are equities, then we're not off Monday for Columbus day. Then I wonder why they scheduled Equity trades made today to be settled on Thursday rather than Wednesday and yesterday's trades settle on Wednesday...4 days? They specifically say Equity market open and Equity trades settle in 4 days.

I also wonder if the tournaments will be 3 days this time? ...long weekend for some. Anyone seen the schedule yet?

In observance of Columbus Day, banks will be closed on Monday, Oct. 13. The Equity and Options markets will be open. As a result, equity trades placed between Wednesday, Oct. 8, and Monday, Oct. 13, will settle according to the schedule below.
