Evay offers affiliate deals. If seeks website directs traffic to ebay and a sale is made, seek can take a commission. A cookie gets stored on the buyers computer. Even if they don't purchase that day and come back later, the cookie remembers and seek still gets the credit. At least that was my understanding of the affiliate agreement with ebay
