The number is what it is. I'm amused by others' descriptions of "record-breaking".
On the one hand, one could argue that attendance at the convention has nothing to do with the pps, as you pointed out. On the other hand, one might expect to see some growth in attendance as the company grows.
Perhaps if Steve gave shares to each attendee, it might grow. Then the resulting PRs would be news-worthy.
