Please use registered trademark IPQA® instead of IPQA™ because anyone can use the ™ symbol, whereas the ® symbol can be used only after the United States Patent and Trademark Office has actually registered a mark:

"When can I use the trademark symbols TM, SM and ®?

Any time you claim rights in a mark, you may use the "TM" (trademark) or "SM" (service mark) designation to alert the public to your claim, regardless of whether you have filed an application with the USPTO. However, you may use the federal registration symbol "®" only after the USPTO actually registers a mark , and not while an application is pending. Also, you may use the registration symbol with the mark only on or in connection with the goods and/or services listed in the federal trademark registration."

B6 Sigma / Sigma Labs registered their trademark IPQA® some time ago--please see posts 24504 and 24543 (yeah, I know this was AFTER your posting):)

Neither GE nor any other company (nor should we posters, when you come down to it) should be using a IPQA® w/o the "®" because every time that's done it's a move toward making it just an abbreviation instead of recognizing that it's more than that. IMO, I'll bet that if an official publication used GE's Shark Skin® or even Xuri™ w/o the registered trademark and trademark symbols, respectively, the author would hear about it from GE.

I'll get off my soapbox now because I'm guilty of this omission too. And I don't even know how to type the symbols if using a computer w/o a numerical keypad, other than copy and paste from another source. Does anybody else out there know?
