Also the NP-1 is an Android based OS with access to GAMES-Most importantly the Google Play store, Tegra Zone, and Ouya indie game access

i would assume the tv's have a limited supply of apps (my samsung has very few apps to choose from) since they do not have the google play store. the np-1 is play store approved. think of the np-1 as a streaming box/ game console/ tv tuner (with additional hardware/ tablet/ home entertainment server. there will be alot of 4k tv's w/o embedded apps to reduce cost, the np-1 can fill in the blank for them. even if i had a smart 4k tv with ultraflix, i would purchase an np-1 simply for its additional features that cannot be included or incorporated into a smart tv

In case you missed it, the NP-1 promotion ended with the BestBuy and Staples debacle. The new promotion is Ultraflix, that doesn't even have a working website. But as usual here, it's coming soon.

Oh, I see. So what sort of applications are available on the NP-1 that would encourage somene to purchase it instead of adding apps their TV?
