Interactive Brokers? Yea, I tried. They want a minimum of $20,000 to open the account, additional funds to cover any short position and then when you go to do the trade they say it can't be done on this stock. It's just a scam to get you to open an account and park funds with them. Go ahead and show me a trade confirmation shorting MRIB or any other penny for that matter that didn't cost more than the potential value of the trade. That's why it isn't done. Regulations make it too restrictive to be profitable.
