Does AAPT really believe sales will be better at new retail outlets? The bars were in the largest retailer in the world for almost a year. It doesn't get any more prime time than that.
If Joel did say AAPT would start out smaller or with limited runs, there might be a chance for them yet. It would have been an expensive lesson, but one well learned. Unfortunately, that isn't even the most important lesson. B&L need to understand that brand recognition is the most important thing they could learn. Without it, sales will not go anywhere no mater what products they put out.
How long of a shelf life do the bars have? It's less then a year right? They haven't manufactured a bar in well over a year right? What's there even to discuss? And FYI I don't care what Joel Has to say. He's a proven liar IMO. Not at the level of b and l who deliberately steal from people imo, but he's pretty bad.
