If you really want a high quality, blob-free, open platform, you're
probably best off with ARM, and a good choice is the new Acer 13:
coreboot, no blobs, and it's really fine hardware at least for me.


Yes Nvidia are fairly good that way. But Intel are good too with open source graphics except for the PowerVR stuff from Imagination Technologies. My guess is more people will open up with OpenCL and suchlike technologies in the future but it can be a real pain in the neck.
