Here is something interesting: 13:55 EDT - American Airlines (AAL) back in the market with a $500M unsecured private placement, which President Scott Kirby says would be added to its existing big cash pile, and potentially returned to shareholders or to pay for new aircraft. AAL ended the July quarter with $9.4B in cash, and announced a buyback program alongside its first dividend since 1980. Kirby also tells investor event that rivals' pledge to trim international capacity isn't being reflected in fewer seats and planes in the sky.
