Great post... the following line actually made me laugh...

this assertion doesn't pass even the lowest level of validity, that is, it can't even muster face validity... as your post so eloquently demonstrates nearly all truly disruptive technologies began with severely limited resources and were at various points in their development financially distressed...

i would go even further to suggest that history demonstrates well-heeled and established companies virtually never produce the paradigm shift... they are too deeply enmeshed and invested in the old paradigm to see the new one... every new paradigm is preposterous before it is obvious... only the fringe players, the unfunded visionary entrepreneurs working out of their garages and in various states of financial underfunding and distress are able to see the preposterous as a solution... Morelli has been working on this for a long, long time in whatever is equivalent to his garage... 30 years in the IT industry, if it is so, may actually be a barrier to understanding and seeing... this is simply the way of paradigms... glta...
