TSMC is giving up 16nm and moving all efforts to 10nm.

That's just silly. There's no real problems reported and lots of customers.

Perhaps what you're seeing is that they're putting a bigger effort into 10nm as they still don't seem to be sure if they're going for EUV or triple patterning and that should have been all decided by now. For 7nm it looks like they looking at e-beam array to do the job:
