if i think a company is a scam and decide to get out at the best price i can...someone else thinks the company is legit and wants in so they buy my shares...someone is right and someone is wrong...but no one is being unethical...

It all depends on your mentality. If you use a scam to profit, then you bet, you are not being selfless(rather selfish) to knowingly use a scam, to further your financial standings. In your mind, do you think it only qualifies as an evil, if someone else concocts the scam? You can ride someone else's scam and you are in the clear?

Well that is outside of the pervue of my intent. Go figure. You are talking normal buying and selling indeed. This is outside of the scope of this conversation. The "scam" makes all the difference. Personally, if it is a scam, I am not involved in any way.
