California is not a third world country. We also believe their are crops in Hawaiin the only question is how many are there. I do agree the places where sucess seems greatest are in tropical locations which are poor.

Couple of answers to your questions are the same. First GKG is not a winter C4 grass that can survive winter frosts so it would be limited to Southern US tropical regions IE Florida, Ariz Cali, S. Texas. This is also why tropical regions are more economical because they enable year round harvests. GKG and Micanthus its primary competition in the US are both C4 feedstocks and vary in terms of yield. GKG is higher in yield per acre of biomass and gallons of biofuel per acre as well. GKG can be harvested the first year planted, both are pernnials and do not require replanting yearly. GKG can be marketed as an animal feed as a secondary revenue stream but it is also a hybrid and convincing some it is dedicated an renewable has been challenging but it does appear many projects are under discussion. Americans and the alternative energy is the industry s growing. GKG is harvestable the first year. Researching financing you will find lending institutions are not convinced in the economics and honestly whether biofuels will be widley adopted. IMO this is the wait and see position banks are compelled to take due to the slow transition to bioenergy in general. Power plants now have no choice due the the death of coal firing power plants by the EPA. JMO its only a matter of time before lending institutions and equity investors fully commit to biomass ventures!
Watch it grow!
