Intel is not a consumer product company and obviously minimal media coverage of the IDF is to be expected. But the financial community does indeed follow the event in order to evaluate the Intel competitive position for the coming year, and sometimes that influences the Intel stock price.But with the Apple hoopla at the same time, and the expected blanket mass media coverage of the Apple event, the financial community will forget about Intel for a while, unless the new Apple products have Intel Inside.
