Initial order of 6 retrofits @ $658,500 $622,000 is reimbursable through the DOE EECGB GRANT.
Then subsequent order of 9 retrofits subject to successful testing and securing additional grant funding to offset cost
They're retrofit the balqon to decrease time in charge from 4 hours to minutes.
Increase battery life up to 8 hours.
Using hydrogen fuel cells.
Electric trucks save 68,000 gallon of diesel/yr (vs 16,000 kilograms of Hydrogen)
Annual emission reduction for electric trucks:* -210 lbs of diesel particulate matter; -3,936 lbs of oxides of nitrogen; -78 lbs of hydrocarbons; and -832 tons of carbon dioxide. *Based on average yard tractor at 1,882 hours per year.
