Very good point. "Dude the more you try and make a case for the "willy nilly" approach to doing business the more absurd the entire idea gets". Of course a "premier company" or for that matter any decent company would at minimum do DD before wasting time or money.
That shows the absurdity of some of what is posted on this board.

Let’s pull at this logic thread for a moment….I believe you are absolutely correct, GD and CACI both did some level of preliminary due diligence on LEI prior to signing any agreements with them. Once the nondisclosures and other agreements were signed, a more detailed and thorough level of due diligence was then performed.

I would imagine that a large company like CACI probably did patent searches (not cheap), public records searches, Duns and Bradstreet reports, etc. As we have seen from the pictures on LEI’s website, they also traveled with LEI to show of the product to customers and let them have a corner of their AUSA booth to try and drum up some business. All very important aspects of the BD process and generally done once an agreement is in place to make sure that you aren’t making introductions to a customer and then finding yourself cut out of the loop when the actual sale is made.

So what happened? After doing the detailed due diligence and even marketing the laser for a short period of time, CACI is gone. What did they discover during the more thorough due diligence that caused them to hit the road? Surely they are aware of what their customers are looking for, otherwise how did they become so huge?

Is it actually possible that their customers (the US Government, specifically the Department of Defense) don’t want this product?
