I have been asking for at least a year for someone to produce a credible link indicating that Panasonic worked directly with the Solar3D technical team. I'm not hating or denying but everyone continually states this as a fact and I would like to see it in writing once and for all.
swiamca provided a summary timeline recently which indicated that the Solar3D technical team hired outside consultants, at one point in the past, so that may be a good place to start.
Solar3D does utilize Panasonic equipment available at the University of California Santa Barbara. But that doesn't mean that they have a direct relationship with Panasonic toward the development of the 3D solar cell.
Please note I mentioned "credible" for a reason as a credible article would not state that the cell maintains its high conversion rate even at night.
I'm sorry to the naysayers but I'm with you Nome. I think a Panasonic partnership is a real possibility and I would welcome such a partnership. I think all the arguments against it can be applied to any large company with possible partnership. Why not? It makes sense and I trust jimbo to get the most out of our investment. I also trust he'll make the right choice be it Panasonic, GE, solar city, first solar etc. No worries here just exciting possibilities and I like reading all the discussions. From those trying to connect the dots.
