#11050 RE: As I See It #11049

DPS et al: Buying this one unit must be a different procedure than fitting out a whole pipeline.

I would have thought that the internal procedures at TransCanada for authorising and deciding on a large scale order would be significantly different from either the agreement to test this technology, or even from a decision to purchase it.

I can see how the Director of Pipeline Products, Andy Mather, would be able to oversee the scope of the 8K, or delegate it, but surely he could not himself decide on a big retrofit, or a big order.

I would have thought something as major as that would have to go through the CEO, and whoever else, lots of layers of decision making, for such a huge decision. That itself could take months, couldn't it? Thoughts, anyone?

As a side note, I heard (second hand, but very reliable) that over a meal with analysts in July, Mr. Gerling said that "electromagnetic technology is a growing theme for them." The person that passed this information to me also said his interlocutor (i.e. the individual that spoke with Mr. Gerling) said, with regards to STWA, that "One click of the mouse saying 'Approved' from Russ followed by a signature and ZERO could become A LOT very soon."

(BTW, I just noticed the 8K on Aug. 7, 2013, when Don Dickson became a director. So it's going on a year now that he's had the job, and at some point he rejoined Kinder Morgan. The relationship there could be very promising.)

(BTW 2: Anyone curious about communications and discussions among TransCanada and related parties could look here: http://www.tomadamsenergy.com/wp-content/uploads/badgas/SWGTA%20Privileged/SWGTA_Privileged_Part7.pdf - it is somewhat voyeuristic but perhaps interesting. Not sure how much to take away from that though: it's as you would expect, just business.)
