If the bats are the source and the locals eat the bat meat wouldn't Ebola be present forever? Are the bats ever free of the virus? And bats bite, too. I think the 'original' human infection was in a 2 year old bitten by a bat. And the bats eat fruit, infect the fruit which is easten by the locals.

Doesn't look to me it will ever die out.
