That's exactly what the FINRA bi-monthly short interest report provides, and the reason it is even published in the first place, as those numbers clearly show, there is almost no short interest in MJNA stock, when that "days to cover" ratio gets over 2, then your beginning to see some meaninfull shorting, hope that helps.

What? Go back and read what I wrote. This is trading volume vs. shares shorted. Not A/S. There is not a strong short interest. The numbers are right there... 5% on average.
