Real DD will help here.

An operating subsidiary is a business term frequently used within the United States in corporate profile descriptions. In the railroad industry, for example, it refers to a company that is a subsidiary but operates with its own identity and rolling stock.

In contrast, a non-operating subsidiary would exist on paper only, but for operating purposes would use the identity and rolling stock of the parent company.

4K studios would fall under the second category. And all business transactions, revenues, reporting, regulations, etc. would be filed under the parent company Nanotech Entertainment.

For business purposes (i.e. the name 4K studios) it is useful to promote the concept that they are in fact converting movies to 4K.

If you buy an NP-1, you can tune into Ultraflix, which has movies produced from 4K studios (i.e. a name they go under within the parent company Nanotech).

This is like business 101. Nanotech is just making use of the name 4K studios, essentially to give their 4K conversion unit an identity. But all legal matters fall under the parent company.

I hope this helps you.
