Nigerian company to produce sickle cell drugs by Austine Odo & Ekije benjamin Sunday 01/06/2006
a Nigerian pharmaceutical company,Xechem Pharmaceuticals has acquired the rights to manufacture a new drug for the treatment of Sickle Cell Disease.
the drug is called Nicosan/Hemoxin.Xechem's chairman Dr. Ramesh Pandey,told newsman in Abuja Tuesday that his company was given the right to manufacture the drugs from the Virgina Commonwealth University[VCU] in Richmond USA.
He said the license gives the company the exclusive rights to manufacture,market & distribute NICOSAN/HEMOXIN drugs,an all natural,phyto-pharmaceutical product.
