These Yelp posts show me that what Jim Vowler (UPZS CEO) said is true (some UPZS locations did exist and some still do exist) and that what's also true is Jim says UPZS has to be rebuilt.
Why UPZS let the franchise expire ? My thinking on this is (sorry I can't find the article on this) I read and or heard it on UPZS conference call & I think it was around Jim said that around 2010 , he needed to stop and step back from what he was doing & retool & perfect things dealing with UPZS.
As you can hear on the conference call Jim says he now has a pizza recipe that he demonstrated for Dr Reddy & others in the room that can come out the same each time on any type of oven. This is to me a milestone in UPZS because not all new franchise owners can afford to start out with a $60,000 oven.
This means this part of UPZS can make franchising faster & easier because more people can start a UPZS franchise not just the ones with deep pockets.
