#5043 RE: 1OFHIS #5040

1OFHIS:

1) Did God know that Adam and Eve would sin when He created them?

He knew that Adam and Eve would sin when He created them. Revelation 13:8- "And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world." From the beginning of time, before He created time, He knew that He was going to have to die for His creation.

It is wondrous to think that He created us in spite of how He knew we would betray Him and reject Him. He knew what we would do to Him, and He still chose to create us.

Now, this is not to be mistaken for causation. Because He knew that man would fall does not mean that He caused the Fall. That is an entirely separate issue in and of itself.

2) Did God know that Adam and Eve would sin when He created them?

I don't know- there is no Biblical answer. On an extreme theory, I would specualte, however, that God would have driven her out of the garden, killed her, and created Adam another wife. It is also possible that, when God confronted her, she could have asked for forgiveness, and God would have forgiven her, wiped away their memories of her having sinned, and continued in fellowship.

Since that didn't happen, it's ok to speculate. Only God knows the answer.
