The dispensary is obviously not generating enough money for Peterson to sustain his lifestyle - otherwise he wouldn't have had to file for bankruptcy.

Collectives in California are non-profit I am not certain about Peterson's dispensary.

But non-profit doesn't mean the owner isn't making any money.
