Once it can be cultivated legally, the price for the basic commodity will collapse. The only reason there is a security issue now, is the artificial scarcity created by law enforcement. Remove that artificial scarcity and market forces will price dope at what it's really worth and remove any need to secure it.

As an example: The value of corn grown in Illinois this summer will top 3.6 billion dollars. No one gaurds corn fields.
