Maybe they wanted to have the shares at a cheaper price and felt the earnings report would raise the share price, thus increasing their bonus....

Because they can award more shares at a lower pps. That's my guess. I have to agree with hydro, it would be suicide if the they don't meet after awarding those shares and the company has been around too long to just drop it on its head here, but this is the otc and anything is possible.
