I'm guessing Berko really did not want to reduce his FnF stake but given his Herbalife loss he had no choice. Why he is wasting so much time and money with Herbalife is beyond me.

This is old news, we already know Berko sold it to Icahn from the court docs. What we do know is that 15% of Berko's entire 8.65 billion dollar portfolio is made up of some form of Fannie and Freddie

Announced in court docs in early June. "Mr. Icahn bought 6.8 million shares of Fannie and 5.7 million shares of Freddie from Mr. Berkowitz’s Fairholme Capital Management LLC, the court document states."

That's old news.... You can make a note that he sold those shares to Carl Icahn.

Why Did Carl Icahn Buy Into Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac?

In mid-May, it was announced that Berkowitz's Fairholme Capital had cut its stake in Fannie and Freddie, and we just recently discovered that Icahn was the buyer. Fairholme sold 6.8 million shares of Fannie (exactly how many Icahn bought) and 2.2 million shares of Freddie in the first quarter, bringing its total stake down to 19.2 million shares of Fannie and 17.2 million of Freddie
